USC Aiken to incorporate scooters for campus transportation

After the 2018 Christmas break, the university will be providing electric scooters as a new mode of transportation.

“I think it is a good idea,” said student Deja Goodman, “because there are freshmen that need to get around without a car.”

The scooters will be found near campus housing and have multiple drop sites, for 50 cents per trip with phone accessibility. They travel at approximately 15 miles per hour and battery life can last up to three days.

SGA president Brandon Eberl said, “I think it will open up doors for students to get around the community more and it will be a great alternative to standard modes of transportation for the students.”
