Connections award to enrich and award students through research
The Connections Award, introduced by the research program at USC Aiken, rewards students with the enrichment of academic curriculum as well as providing a mentoring and professional experience.
According to the webpage on USCA’s website, the program “was created by the University of South Carolina Aiken Center for Research Excellence to enrich the academic experience of our undergraduates through research opportunities in all disciplines.”
The recipients of this award may receive between $500 to $1000 to fund “scholarly/creative endeavors across all disciplines.”
Through submission of either research, scholarship or project proposals with the collaboration of a USCA faculty member, the selection will be determined based upon the student’s academic success, “potential impact of the project” and the merit of the project.
Though submission deadlines have passed for proposals, students can view more information about the award on the Connections Research Program website.
Both STEM and Humanities based proposals and research is welcome, as the program aims for students to “creatively explore their interests at a more in-depth level than can be attained in the classroom.”
