The Etherredge Center
The Etherredge Center is the center of performing and visual arts on the campus of the USC Aiken.
Walking through the doors to the Etherredge Center on a weekday, a person will potentially find themselves in the center of a collage of artistic cultures. One might hear musicians and singers rehearsing, see visual artists working on new pieces of art or listen to a lecturer speaking about musical history.
The center houses rehearsal spaces for dance, choir and instrumental groups as well as individual practice spaces for instrumentalists and singers. There is a large art exhibit that showcases two full floors of student artworks. Classes such as music theory, oral skills, world music, theater, choir, dance, art history, pottery and various other arts based courses are taught in the Etherredge Center.
The Etherredge Center’s main auditorium can seat up to 687 guests . It is also the home to the black box theater, also known as the O’Connell Theater, which can hold a maximum audience of one hundred.
The center is also used to host community events such as the Savannah River Site annual membership meetings, the Aiken Symphony Orchestra performances, Aiken Civic Orchestra performances and many other events.
