A "Personal" Letter to Erica Bennett

In my time with the Pacer Times, I’ve grown to find a place that makes me feel like I can be myself and has given me opportunities to meet so many amazing people. One of the best being Erica.

Upon arrival, Erica made me feel at home and eventually became what I would consider to be a close friend. She has been there for me whenever I needed, given me great advice, allowed me a space to share my thoughts and been somewhat of a big sister figure to me.

Now that she has officially made her exit from the Pacer Times after a very successful career I appreciate, more than anything, how trusting she was of me to leave the position of Editor-in-Chief in my hands.

I know that you’ll still be reading articles weekly and you will see this without me having to text it to you, so to make you tear up a little I want to say thank you. For being an amazing Editor-in-Chief, believing in me and being so selfless to the point where I need to tell you that you need to slow down and do some things for yourself.

While this obviously isn’t the end of our friendship or your own personal journey, everyone is still going to miss you dearly.
