42nd NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet
On Sept. 29 the Aiken County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held its 42nd annual Freedom Fund Banquet. The had an outcome of over 100 cherished members and their families.
The Freedom Fund Banquet is a fundraiser put on by the NAACP to provide scholarships to its members, reward cherished community members and offer networking opportunities.
President of the USC Aiken branch, Terrance Williams, confidently introduced the keynote speaker of the evening. Civil rights leader, Bishop William Barber II gave the audience a riveting speech with topics ranging from voting rights to how poverty affects Americans.
