The Public Image of Will and Jada Smith

Since 2020 Will and Jada Smith’s public image has been tainted due to Jada’s scandalous affair with rapper August Alsina. Jada’s “entanglement” with August Alsina stunned social media and spurred memes about their relationship. Will and Jada attempted to save face with an episode of Jada’s “Red Table Talk” confirming her affair and explaining that it occurred while she and Will were separated. This attempt did not help to salvage their public image.

Two years later Chris Rock is the host for the 94th Oscar Awards. He made a joke about Jada’s bald head and in retaliation, Will Smith went on stage and slapped him. The infamous slapped not only stunned social media but it also shocked Hollywood. The infamous slap damaged Will Smith’s career and is banned from the Oscars for ten years.

 Recently Jada revealed in an interview that she and Will have been separated since 2016. She also discussed that she and the late rapper Tupac Shakur are soulmates. Not only that she also revealed how Chris Rock previously pursued a relationship with her and other details about her marriage with Will in her upcoming memoir Worthy. Yet again this shocked the internet, and many people feel that Jada is disclosing too much information about her marriage.

 The public perception of Will and Jada’s marriage is shattered. Jada is perceived as the adulterous wife and Will as a sad cuck. The entanglement scandal damaged Jada’s reputation and Will slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars damaged his career. Based on Jada’s Red Table Talk show and current interviews it is safe to say that Jada was not fulfilled in her marriage. Most people are saying that they should seek a divorce since both are not happy in their marriage.
