Title IX/ Civil Rights Department Updates
Title IX is a law that protects students and faculty in any educational program from gender discrimination, sexual harassment and unlawful retaliation. This allows students and faculty to report any of these situations without receiving retaliation from the school or faculty.
On Oct. 3, 2023, the University announced that they would be changing the structure of the Title IX/ Civil Rights department.
The announcement states the various staff changes within the department:
Dr. James Hodges will now be the campus’s Title IX/ Civil Rights Coordinator for faculty, staff, and students; Ms. Carla Hayes and Mr. Ahmed will serve as Deputy Coordinators for Title IX/ Civil Rights; and Mr. Dexter Harris, Ms. Melissa Wilson, and Ms. Lacie Wehrmann will serve as investigators.
