2022 Fashion Trends Recap
2022 was filled with many different looks throughout the entire year.
The Gen Z generation adding and creating their own styles. While bringing back different styles and aesthetics from decades ago.
Today, I will be discussing different styles aesthetics, and clothes that were the most trendy in the year 2022.
Starting off we have the famous “bubble slides” also known as the “golf ball slides”. These slides all started when created by the rapper and fashion designer Kayne West. These slides were found on multiple websites such as Shein, Aliexpress and in-person stores. The ones sold not by Kayne are called “dupes” which are a cheaper version of the real item.
One of the most popular aesthetics of 2022 would have to be streetwear fashion. The streetwear aesthetic included clothing items such as baggy jeans, cargo pants and many other items. Graphic tees were very trendy in this aesthetic such as tees with famous celebrities on them. Other items included baseball caps and sneakers such as Jordans.
Going into bottoms any type of jeans or leggings the flare part was very popular throughout 2022. Flare jeans were very big during the 70s who would’ve thought they’d make a comeback in today's society? Women and even men are wearing different styles and look with flare jeans.
Another pair of sneakers that are still currently trendy in 2023 would have to be “Dunks”. They are simple Nike-branded shoes that come in assorted colors. The most popular pair of Dunks would have to be the black and white “Panda” pair. I’ve seen these in person and on social media multiple times.
The last item is an accessory all started by the famous performer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Beyoncé was spotted one day with a big white purse with the letter “T”. The bag was from the black-owned brand called Telfar. Telfar was founded in 2005 but wasn’t till 2021 and continued in 2022. The bags have three sizes to choose from: small, medium, and large coming in a variety of colors such as metallic silver to brown.
To conclude, last year was filled with many different trends. Although the year 2022 did include other items such as stacked leggings, foam runners and fitted caps. It’s always exciting seeing what is in and what is not throughout the year and can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for the new fashion trends.
