Narrative: Grill my cheese

On October 30th , Soul Sister Sessions held the grilled cheese cook-off which took place in the SAC Mezz. The judges were the Soul Sisters themselves. Various groups were present, including SGA, Pacer Times and Unity, who all competed to see who makes the best grilled cheese sandwich. The griddles and Panini presses were hot and ready!

Pacer Times were the first up to cook, since there wasn’t much space for all three teams to cook at the same time. Pacer Times would be using Hawaiian bread, garlic butter, and provolone cheese, along with a side of tomato soup. Their tactic was to utilize the sweet taste of the Hawaiian bread to catch the judge's attention as they indulged themselves in the Pacer Time’s special grilled cheese.

The Unity group went second; their angle was to keep the classic style of grilled cheese by using standard white bread, butter, and American cheese. The judges seemed to enjoy the classic!

SGA went last with their Panini styled bread, garlic butter, provolone cheese as well as American cheese with bacon. The judges enjoyed the blend of cheeses and made comments on the crispness and flavor of the bacon.

The judges then collaborated their scorecards and discussed who would take the win. The results were as follows: Coming in third place would be Unity, second Pacer Times, and SGA would come out on top with first place. Overall, the event was fun and competitive with great tasting grilled cheese sandwiches!
