Review: Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" album

Rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., formerly known as ‘Lil Wayne’, finally dropped his album, “Tha Carter V” on September 28 at midnight.

It has been a lengthy battle for the rapper to accomplish the release of that album, due to label drama, health complications and more.

Projected sales were to hit 460k in the first week, close to surpassing his target with 462K records sold.

This is the rapper’s fourth number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, and the third highest selling album of 2018 under Drake and Travis Scott.

The album contains features from the late XXXTentacion, Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj and more.

The album was drowned in fiery passion and riveting storytelling.

It is hard to dispute Lil Wayne’s self-assigned title as “the best rapper alive” and those who doubted Lil Wayne’s potential after 4 years have clearly misjudged him.

“Tha Carter V” is available for purchase in-store, online and on streaming platforms.
