Student organizations donate socks for month of October
Socktober is in full effect with IMPACT and Rotaract setting up a donation box outside the Student Life Office.
Impact and Rotaract teamed up to produce this October event, during which people donate socks to an organization of their choice, according to Ashley Defore, the student coordinator for IMPACT.
The organizations decided to do Socktober because it is a “fun way” to initiate student involvement.
The reasoning behind donating socks was that socks are an “everyday item” and due to the cold weather, they are in high demand.
The organization that these two groups chose was The Salvation Army. The socks will go to the Aiken shelter.
