College Democrats host watch party for Democratic debate
USC Aiken’s College Democrats hosted a watch party for the Democratic party debate broadcast live from Houston on Thursday evening.
The debate was preceded by a lecture from Dr. Matthew Thornburg and Professor Mitchell Krumm of the political science department. They outlined what to expect from the debate, including information about the candidates and their political philosophies.
There were 10 participants in Thursday Night’s debate: Frontrunners Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, as well as Kalamla Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Andrew Yang, Beto O’Rourke, Corey Booker, Julián Castro and Amy Klobuchar.
The debate watch party was an Inter Cultural Event (ICE) and College Democrats provided popcorn and soda for the event.
