Topic of 'generational diversity' to be explored in ICE Event
An ICE event covering “generational diversity,” specifically Generation Z, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Melissa Furman, facilitator of the event, will “identify challenges and opportunities when working with and for Generation Z,” according to a Student Life email.
The email further discusses the topic of generational gaps, including the different approaches to “projects, problems, and personal engagement.”
The event will be an opportunity to “learn from and about one another to maximize teamwork and understanding across all generations.”
According to Duke Corporate Education, “The major impact Gen Z will have is to force businesses to change the way they use technology within the organization.”
“I see it as an enhancement, not a distraction from work. If you want or need something, then someone, somewhere will know more about it than you. IT and social media will connect you to these people quickly and easily. It is the new enabler, the step-up from organized networking meetings.”
Though the article discusses Generation Z in business terms, the event will delve into aspects both personal and impersonal.
