How To: Have fun in Aiken
As the seasons begin to change, so do the fun activities students can take part in.
Aiken is known for two things: golf and horses. But there is so much more to do in this town. Some fan favorites include picnics at Hopeland Gardens, watching live music in the Alley, throwing axes at Woodchuckers and cheering on our Pacer teams.
However, with the changing of temperature these fun activities get a little twist. As some sport teams end their season, the USCA basketball team starts theirs. The first home game is on Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free for all students.
With Amp the Alley finishing up for the year, Tailgate Tavern has an Open Mic Night every Monday from 7-9 p.m. and karaoke night on Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
“Amazing! Great food great people great atmosphere!” said a Google review.
For students who want a more relaxing activity to go do, the Wilcox has been hosting Jazz Nights every Thursday at 7 p.m. Students can go watch and listen to relax after a long week of classes.
“I loved every minute of it! The crowd was energetic, friendly and lots of laughter,” said Jacob Corey, student at USCA. “I would love to go back!”
