Introducing The Town Square A Literary Magazine: A new, student-led publication
News section editor, Erin Weeks met with Samantha Taylor, a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree of fine arts in creative writing and former service member, who has started a literary magazine called The Town Square! Taylor’s initiative is inspiring to say the least, and as a member of student media at USCA, I am excited to see what she has in store for the university!

Dr. Deborah McMurtrie awarded Dr. Jennifer L. Wilson Teaching Excellence Award
Reporter Taylor Herndon got to know more about Dr. Deborah McMurtie, a professor who has earned high distinctions despite her relatively short term in the profession. We proudly recognize her newest accomplishment of being awarded the Dr. Jennifer L. Wilson Teaching Award after making significant contributions to middle-level education in the state.

Breaking News: Masks become fully optional on campus
News section editor Erin Weeks updates students on the campus’ mask regulations after having gone from masks being optional outside of instructional and research spaces just two weeks ago to fully optional outside of the Student Health Center today. Some faculty and staff have expressed their concerns with the change, but most students are relieved by the progression back to normal.

Aiken Community Theater set to perform "Some Place Called Mayor's Income Tennessee"

Intermediate graphic design students create Lincoln display in the Etherredge Center Gallery
Reporter Greer Godsey learned more about the Lincoln exhibit at the Etherredge Center put together by Dr. Fowler and his intermediate graphic design class to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Lincoln memorial. A free gala will be held tomorrow - students are encouraged to attend to support one another’s hard work and dedication!

Pacers and Polo event celebrates its 17th anniversary on April 2
Reporter Katie Presnell learned more about USCA’s relatively new tradition of Pacers and Polo, which I will certainly be attending this Saturday! It’s only $8 for adults and entertainment, food and more will be provided! League of Legends team finishes their season at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament
Reporter Taylor Herndon found that the eSports League of Legends (MOBA) team fell at the Peach Belt Conference after a very successful semester. Our team lost to Columbus State University who later fell to Converse University. Great job and better luck next year, Pacers!
