Victoria Monet “On My Mama” Music Video Review

Victoria Monet pays tribute to the 2000s Black Culture vibes releasing the music video for “On My Mama.” 

RnB songwriter and singer Victoria Monet released her highly anticipated album “Jaguar II” on Aug. 25, 2023, also releasing her music video for her latest single “On My Mama”. 

The music video tells a story showing off that 2000s Southern Black culture as if we’re taking a time machine back to the early 2000s. Her single has a sample from the artist Charlie Boy’s song “I Look Good”. The video featured different throwback 2000s looks such as baggy jeans, jersey dresses, y2k hairstyles and many other iconic looks. The video would fit perfectly in the throwback BET music TV show “106 and Park.” Victoria Monet does an excellent job of creating a song to have viewers remember times from their past with the help of choreographer Sean Bankhead executing dance moves to help tell the story.
