USCA Hosts the 2024 ESports Peachbelt Championship

This past weekend USC Aiken hosted the 2024 E-Sports Peachbelt Conference championship. The Peachbelt Conference is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level and there are 10 participating institutions in the South Atlantic United States.

Beginning on Mar. 22 and continuing into Mar. 23, teams were able to compete for various championship titles.

The University of North Georgia won the Overwatch championship division title against Florida State University in Panama City. This was their first Champions Division title.

Augusta University competed with North Georgia and won the League of Legends champions division title with a final score of 3-0 during the championship match. This was the team’s first win of the 2023-2024 season.

Converse University Valkyries won the 2024 League of Legends championship against Kennesaw State with a final score of 4-0. This was their third title win in a row.

The matches featured live student commentators and were played in front of an audience.
