C.U.R.L.S. Spring Fashion Show
On Apr. 12, C.U.R.L.S hosted their Spring fashion show in the SAC Mezz from 7 to 9 p.m. The three categories for the fashion show were Denim, Bratz vs Barbie, and Shades of Color. The models were being judged on their outfits and catwalk.
The models who walked in the fashion show were Dashiell Fullante, Darius Banks, Joshua, Destiny Smith, Jon’Tasia Ford, Berianna Hart, Creyonta’ Riddle, and Loren Eubanks.
The judges for the show were Jordan Walker, Terrance Williams, Kandice Thompson, Day’Lyn McKinnis, Endyah Haviar, and Jayla Richardson. During the second intermission, there was a performance from the on-campus K-pop dance crew, Insignia.
The winners of the Denim category were:
Jon’Tasia Ford, first place,
Creyonta’ Riddle, second place
Loren Eubanks, third place
In the Bratz vs Barbie, the following won the category:
Darius Banks, first place
Jon’Tasia Ford, second place
Berianna Hart, third place.
In Shades of Color, the following winners were:
Darius Banks, first place
Jon’Tasia Ford, second place
Destiny Smith, third place
The fashion show showcased how creative the models were with their outfits. Attendees watched people of color strut their outfits with animated gestures, bold attitudes and confidence. The fashion show had such a great turnout that volunteers had to find chairs to seat the guests.
During the intermission, the DJ played music and Greek organizations like Alpha Phi Alpha performed their stroles to entertain the audience. It was a fun and entertaining event that allowed students to express their style and creativity.
